LEGAL UPDATES Denise R. Hannan Successfully Resolves Real Property Dispute by Denise R. Hannan - April 2, 2009 Denise R. Hannan, a partner in Shannon B. Jones Law Group and Diablo Mediation Services, was asked by the Contra Costa Superior Court to attempt to resolve a commercial real estate dispute. The case was set for trial in early February 2009. The parties had mediated previously before a different mediator without any resolution. On the day of trial, Judge Barry Baskin requested that Ms. Hannan conduct a pre-trial settlement conference in a final effort to resolve the matter without a full trial.The case involved a dispute regarding who was entitled to funds held back from the seller’s proceeds to cover costs of environmental clean up at the site. Ms. Hannan spent more than six (6) hours working with the parties, and successfully resolved the dispute.
